Action 4 Justice is a project supported by individuals and a consortium of non-governmental organisations who fight poverty injustice, and rights abuses throughout the world. Together, we recognise and promote public interest litigation as an essential strategic tool in this global struggle.
Oxfam’s vision is a just world without poverty. We want a world where people are valued and treated equally, enjoy their rights as full citizens, and can influence decisions affecting their lives.
Our purpose is to help create lasting solutions to the injustice of poverty. We are part of a global movement for change, empowering people to create a future that is secure, just, and free from poverty.
We use a combination of rights-based sustainable development programs, public education, campaigns, advocacy, and humanitarian assistance in disasters and conflicts.
We challenge the structural causes of the injustice of poverty, and work with allies and partners locally and globally.
ASF – Avocats Sans Frontières – serves the most vulnerable people waiting for justice. ASF intervenes in countries where human rights are not respected, where political violence and armed conflict reign, and where legal rules are flouted. Some 30 institutional donors and bar associations financially support ASF’s activities.
The Public Interest Law Clinic (PILAC) was established at the School of Law, Makerere University in January 2012, becoming the first clinic established at a university in Uganda. PILAC seeks to promote a hands-on experiential learning as well as exposing students to ‘live’ cases of individuals who have been confronted by the law in its varied manifestations. PILAC has established a Clinical Legal Education (CLE) programme, which is a hands-on learning programme intended to equip law students with public interest lawyering skills.
Greenpeace exists because this fragile earth deserves a voice. It needs solutions. It needs change. It needs action. Greenpeace is an independent global campaigning organisation that acts to change attitudes and behaviour, to protect and conserve the environment and to promote peace.
From villages in rural India to the corridors of power in Brussels, Transparency International gives voice to the victims and witnesses of corruption. We work together with governments, businesses and citizens to stop the abuse of power, bribery and secret deals.
As a global movement with one vision, we want a world free of corruption. Through chapters in more than 100 countries and an international secretariat in Berlin, we are leading the fight against corruption to turn this vision into reality.
The Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa (IHRDA) is a pan–African non-governmental organization (NGO) working to promote awareness of human rights in Africa and improve the effectiveness of the African Human Rights system.
